Should we use labels to define others or Don’t call me human!

Psychic Empaths

Labels A number of times, when I’ve mentioned that someone is an Empath, they say it’s a label, and they don’t like using labels.

As it goes, I’m ambivalent about if this is really an issue.

The question I have is: How do you define something without a label? If people refused to be categorized then how can they identify who they are, and what they can do?

Fact is, everything is a label. Defining your gender requires a label.

If you specialize in something, it requires a label. For instance, if someone is a medical practitioner, you would call them a ‘doctor’, which is a label. They would hardly say, don’t call me ‘doctor’ because you’re labelling me. At least you would hope they wouldn’t as you want to know who is a doctor so you would know who to see if you have health issues.

Race, abilities, body type, hobbies, professions, skills and everything…

Voices from beyond the veil. Edison, Raudive, Jürgenson and Spiricom.

The Paranormal Network. Official (mirrored) Blog

voices from beyond

Talking to the dead, voices from beyond the veil. Is it really possible to hear the spoken words of the deceased? We look in brief at Edison, delve into early EVPs, research of Konstantin Raudive, Telephone calls from the dead and the history of Spiricom. In the redeux of Sounds from the veil from Beyond The Line Issue 4.

Looking back through the history books
Thomas Edison during his life saw a need for technology to connect to the other side. Spiritualism was growing and then when the science community were also looking with curious eyes – looking to develop a means by which spirits might try to contact us. Depending on who you read and who you talk to, he strove to make contact through some sort of phonograph device in the mid 1890s. Then, in the late 1920s, he tried to make contact with the souls of the…

Impeccable Timing

thevoicesblog

A man told me a tale while we were discussing Season One of American Horror Story. It seems that early one crisp Thanksgiving day, while driving down a lonely, local road, he happened upon a transparent person crossing in front of his speeding car. Slamming on the brakes to avoid hitting the figure, the car came to a stop just a few feet away from an unfazed revenant. Yes, he was indeed transparent, seemed to lack one leg, and consisted of a shimmering, unstable substance. The driver was not drunk or otherwise impaired; he wasn’t tired or distracted. It was just a trip down the road for cigarettes on a holiday morning; a trip he had made many times before.

The apparition turned and looked him right in the eyes, offered a beaming smile, and literally tipped his hat, before turning to predictably disappear. “He faded away. He was just…

Phony psychics and faked paranormal or why are my eyes tearing up?

Psychic Empaths

They are out there in abundance and they hurt those who are really trying to demonstrate that the paranormal side of life is real, is happening and people are experiencing it.

A quick browse through You Tube with the keyword ghost will produce a multitude of videos that claim to be real, but are not.

Some are poltergeist activity caught on tape, others are ghosts that just happen to be captured while someone decided to film some place for no apparent reason.

Mixed in there, are some examples that feel quite genuine, but thanks to all the other videos, they get lost, discredited or dismissed out of hand.

Sadly, there are many out there who pretend to be psychics while using the tricks of a stage magician.

One of the more notorious ones that come to mind from my childhood is Uri Geller. Everything he did was totally…

There’s a ghost in my house! Now what?

GhostlyDramas

ghostsMany of you who follow my blog know that I grew up in a haunted house and because of that became interested in the paranormal. I’ve written blog posts about my experiences in that freaky old farmhouse and plan on releasing a book about it as well…which will really be a conglomeration of all those earlier blog posts. Since starting this blog a little over a year ago, I’ve received lots of comments and email from readers who have had or are having similar experiences and I thought it was time to write another post dealing with the issue of ghosts.

For those of you who have not been following my blog since the beginning…let me bring you up too speed real quick about me, my experiences and beliefs concerning ghosts, hauntings, and the like.

First, I am not a medium though I have had some experience communicating with “the other side” and I…

It’s All in the Name

In the overly-organized place that is my world, everything has a place and everything is properly labeled. That includes EVP. There have been occasions where I’ve been equally mystified and horrified by the way others store and label their EVP. I swear, if I were king of the world, my first royal action would be to insist that a proper EVP naming convention be immediately installed. So, you’re in luck – I’m not king of the world, but I am going to tell you how my EVP are tagged.

Primarily, I like to look at the file name and be able to instantly know everything about the clip without having to guess or listen. With a single glance at the name, I am immediately aware of the following things: EVP classification, date of capture, what recording device was used, investigation location, name of original file, where the clip can be…

Do You Have a Plan for Afterlife Communication?

The Big Séance Podcast

So this weekend, among other random things, I’ve worked on getting caught up in reading my Association TransCommunication News Journals. Reading one makes you realize just how many different kinds of ITC (Instrumental TransCommunication) research is happening all over the world. It also makes me realize that just like education, technology, and communication, spirit communication techniques are constantly changing. Like a doctor or a brain surgeon, any person studying spirit communication needs to stay informed on the latest news and techniques. Besides things like mediumship and standard EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena) recording, people all over the world are getting spirit communication results through the use of radios, telephones, video, photography, voice mail, ouija boards, scrying through things like water and crystals, Morse code, and even dimes being dropped around the house. What is even more interesting is that more and more people are reporting having afterlife communication through…
